What Are the 2015 Acura RDX Changes?
We’ve lost track of just how many Chicago drivers we have put behind the wheel of the RDX during its lifetime. While everyone has loved the 2014 model, the 2015 Acura RDX is now here, and you may be wondering if Acura’s changed much about a vehicle that saw consistent sales growth for well over a year.
On the one hand, it’s tough to argue that a successful vehicle should be changed, but on the other, you need to make sure that it remains at the top in one of the most competitive segments of the auto market. So, let’s take a closer look at the 2015 Acura RDX changes.
Updates to the Technology Package
As we said, the 2014 RDX was a popular compact crossover, and as far as we can tell, it remains unchanged for the 2015 model year. But Acura has updated the available Technology Package a bit. New for the 2015 RDX is:
- A larger screen for infotainment and rearview camera displays
- Integrated Pandora Internet radio controls
That’s in addition to the package’s xenon headlights, power liftgate, state-of-the-art navigation system with real-time traffic, 10-speaker surround sound system, and voice controls.
Remaining Par for the Course
While we would have been excited to announce updates for the 2015 RDX, we’re frankly glad that Acura only tweaked the technology package and left the rest of the vehicle alone.
With a 3.5L V6 engine capable of 273 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque and delivering an EPA-estimated 28 mpg highway fuel economy to 2015 RDX 6-Spd AT models* and some of the best standard features in the business, we’re having a tough time thinking of what else they could have done to improve Acura’s compact crossover.
As one of the most spacious crossover SUVs of its kind, we think most families will be more than happy with the RDX, but if you need something a bit bigger, there’s always the 2015 Acura MDX.
See the RDX Firsthand
There really aren’t many vehicles that combine the spacious interior of a larger crossover with the easy handling of a mid-size sedan, but the 2015 Acura RDX does it with flying colors. See this versatile new family vehicle firsthand with a test drive from a Chicagoland Acura Dealer near you. We think you’ll see why they barely changed a thing for 2015.
