The New 2015 Acura TLX Recognized by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance

February 6th, 2015 by

The Kiplinger’s Personal Finance report was just released, and we are proud to say that the 2015 Acura TLX was granted one of their Best Value Awards for the Best New/Redesigned Car. The TLX competed with other luxury sedans in the $40-50,000 price range.

We’ve thought that the TLX would look great zipping down Lake Shore Drive or cruising between the suburbs on a sunny spring day, but we’re glad to see an organization with the respect of Kiplinger’s declaring the TLX a smart buy when it comes to value.

The Best New/Redesigned Car

The TLX’s competition for its award was about as fierce as it gets, with Kiplinger’s considering hundreds of different vehicles before breaking them down into categories, voting, and declaring their winners.

In order for the TLX to take home the award for its class, it needed to score ahead of the competition in areas like:

  • Pricing
  • Value
  • Safety
  • Performance
  • Roominess
  • Overall Driving impressions

Acura’s new sport sedan made short work of the competition, however, and Michael Accavitti, general manager and vice president of the Acura Division of American Honda Motors, Inc. was quick to respond to the news: “As Acura’s sedan line-up continues to strengthen, the marketplace is taking notice, and we are honored to receive this recognition from Kiplinger’s.”

While the TLX is a relatively new car, it is already taking home awards beyond this one. The 2015 TLX also just took home a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety on models equipped with front collision prevention systems.

Exploring What Makes the TLX Special

There’s no one single thing that can account for the TLX’s breakout success in the luxury sedan world, but we thought it would be a good idea to share some key highlights of the vehicle:

  • Driver’s choice of a 290-hp V6 engine or the standard 206-hp four-cylinder
  • Standard Precision All-Wheel Steering (P-AWS)
  • TLX V6 models have all-wheel drive available
  • Next-generation safety features like Acura Watch collision prevention technology
  • Leather-wrapped interior with heated front seating

Of course, the best way to see just what it is that the 2015 TLX is capable of, the best way to understand how it’s already taking home awards, is to visit a Chicagoland Acura Dealer for a test drive.

Chicagoland Acura Dealers includes Joe Rizza Acura, Acura of Libertyville, Muller’s Woodfield Acura, McGrath Acura of Westmont, Continental Acura of Naperville, Arlington Acura in Palatine, Ed Napleton Acura, McGrath Acura of Morton Grove, Pauly Acura, McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago, and Muller Acura of Merrillville.
