The 2015 Acura RDX Offers Affordable Luxury

January 26th, 2015 by

With the 2015 Acura RDX MSRP starting at just $35,095,* it is one of the most affordably-priced luxury crossovers on the road. Available now at a Chicagoland Acura Dealer near you, the RDX combines the fuel efficiency and handling of a much smaller vehicle with the spacious interior of a full-size crossover, delivering a vehicle that offers drivers the best of both worlds.

That it comes with the latest in high-tech amenities and some of the most luxurious interior features simply make the RDX even more attractive to families seeking a new crossover. But how does it compare to a competing vehicle like the 2015 Lexus RX 350?

An Affordable Luxury Vehicle?

The 2015 Lexus RX 350 is priced starting at $40,970, putting it pretty well above the entry-level RDX, but we haven’t been able to find much that can justify the added cost. Not only do drivers save more in the 2015 Acura RDX MSRP, the Acura crossover offers long-term savings too:

  • The 2015 Acura RDX FWD earns an EPA-estimated 28 highway mpg and 20 city mpg** from its 273-hp V6 engine.
  • The Lexus, on the other hand, is rated at just 270 hp and can only offer 25 mpg highway/18 mpg in the city.

So, the Lexus costs more and is less powerful and less efficient… it must make up for it somewhere else, right? Well, the 2015 RDX comes with the following features that you would either need to upgrade for or are outright unavailable on the Lexus RX 350:

  • Power moonroof
  • Driver-side memory settings
  • Rearview camera system
  • Speed-sensing interval wipers
  • Leather-trimmed seating
  • Heated front seating
  • Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters

The Lexus isn’t a bad crossover, but we can’t account for the added cost when Acura has found a way to give drivers a crossover that is as luxurious as it is affordable.
