The 2014 Acura MDX Made its Debut this March at NYIAS
The brand new 2014 Acura MDX is rolled out at the New York International Auto Show on March 27. The production model of this luxury SUV, which was incredibly similar to the prototype model that was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, has been improved to offer better fuel efficiency and performance as well as even more comfort for occupants.
In the performance category, the vehicle will feature a direct-injected 3.5 liter i-VTEC V-6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM). The MDX will also be offered in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. For a more comfortable commute, the longer wheelbase on the 2014 MDX allows extra second-row legroom and makes it easier to access the third-row seats.
Safety is Key on the New MDX
The 2014 MDX is equipped with a variety of features to help keep passengers as safe as possible on the road. To increase visibility, there is the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera that makes drivers more aware of their surroundings when the vehicle is in reverse. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering II (ACE II) body structure works to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the SUV, which helps to protect occupants in the event of a collision. It also helps to distribute the forces that would be transferred to the other vehicles involved in a crash.
With all of these remarkable features, it is expected that the 2014 MDX will earn top-level safety ratings and follow in the footsteps of several previous Acura models that have done just that.
