Taking a Look at the Acura TLX GT Race Car

March 20th, 2014 by

If you looked at the 2015 Acura TLX and your first thought was “this should be on the track,” you weren’t the only one. Mike Accavitti explained just why it is that you’ll be seeing the TLX GT Race Car when he revealed it at the Detroit Auto Show: racing spirit is part of our DNA in the auto world, giving engineers a training ground to maximize their capabilities and deliver them to the standard street versions of cars.

See the TLX and TLX GT

We know that many of you are already excited at the Acura TLX and it hasn’t even hit the streets of Chicago yet, so we wouldn’t be surprised if you were also pretty darn excited about the TLX GT. First, though, for drivers unfamiliar with the TLX, we want to give a brief overview of why it’s just so popular:

  • Choice of 2.4L 4-cylinder or 3.5L V6 engine
  • Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS)
  • Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) available

These three perks combine to give drivers of the TLX some of the best control available on the road today, with P-AWS designed to maximize handling and help you keep a straight line even in the tightest of corners.

One thing we love about the TLX GT is that it is thoroughly Acura, powered by a twin turbo take of the standard direct injection TLX engine and carrying a powerplant that is built by Acura Motorsports Group at HPD. Real Time Racing will be bringing the Acura TLX GT to the track, and hopefully to victory while partnering yet again with team owner/driver Peter Cunningham.
