Stay Safe Behind the Wheel of the Acura ZDX

April 18th, 2013 by

It should come as little surprise that the 2013 Acura ZDX carries a level of safety to match its luxury; after all, Acura vehicles are known around Chicago for their ability to combine style and substance into one affordable package.

Recently, Consumer Reports analyzed accident prevention technology and determined that systems like those available in the ZDX can actually help prevent collisions and are some of the most effective crash prevention technologies available.

How Does it Keep You Safe?

By using the vehicle’s standard forward collision warning and lane departure warning systems, drivers are alerted to when there appears to be an accident coming that they were unaware of, hopefully preventing damage to their vehicle and/or other vehicles, property, and pedestrians.

While both of these warning systems are things you should be checking as a driver, it can be easy to get distracted behind the wheel, and a friendly reminder is a great way to keep your Acura pristine.

To determine how effective these systems were, Consumer Reports studied the Volvo S60 and XC60 and then found out which other vehicles on the market – such as the ZDX – featured similar systems.

In addition to these tests, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the 2013 ZDX “good” rankings in side-impact, frontal-offset, and roof-strength tests. Other safety features include an array of airbags, antilock disc brakes, and traction and stability control systems.

Of course, it only makes sense to have top-notch safety features when it comes to a vehicle as beautifully designed and well-equipped as the ZDX. Bearing the sleek design and modern technology drivers expect from an Acura, the ZDX offers practically anything someone could want in a luxury crossover.
