Siri is Coming to Acura
After she’s already taken the smartphone world by storm, Apple’s Siri technology is on its way to an Acura near you. That’s right, soon Chicagoland Acura dealers will be able to provide you with the option to add Siri integration onto the 2013 Acura RDX and ILX models. If you’re not sure what Siri is or why you should be excited, read on!
Use Your iPhone Eyes Free
Trying to fumble around with a cell phone while driving was so distracting that it became illegal, and now, thanks to Bluetooth technology, many smartphones are able to be integrated right into the driving experience, letting drivers keep both hands on the wheel and still stay connected.
You’ll find Bluetooth on the majority of new vehicles, including Acura models, so then what’s the big deal about Siri? Perhaps we should say “what are the big deals?” One is called Eyes Free.
Eyes Free keeps your compatible iPhone’s screen from lighting up and distracting you while you’re using the voice control system. This goes right in line with many handsfree features offered on Acura models that encourage the driver to focus all their attention on driving.
That’s not all, though. In fact, it’s just the beginning. Part of the appeal of Siri is that she learns, accommodating the driver and their needs while improving itself to provide more accurate responses in the future. The days of old, clunky voice interfaces are gone, and we have Siri to thank.
This is yet another example of Acura’s initiative to give their drivers some of the best technology on the planet. Apple users have been raving over Siri for some time now, and the convenience she brings to their daily life should make for the perfect fit in a luxurious and well-equipped new Acura.
