Acura Vehicles Set to Climb Pikes Peak
When it comes to Acura, Chicago drivers know to trust the brand for style, performance, equipment, and versatility, but their dedication to perfection means that their research and development teams are constantly pushing the envelope. And sometimes that means you just have to take an Acura up a mountain. Two Acura models will be scaling Pikes Peak on June 30th, making 156 turns before reaching the top, just to illustrate the capabilities of the line.
With so many Chicagoan sports fans, we hope that some of you will follow the race and root on your favorite Acura: the first generation Acura NSX or the 2013 Acura TL SH-AWD.
More Than Just Good Looks
All it takes is a glance at the 2013 Acura cars to see the breadth of options available, but sending luxury vehicles through a race such as this proves that there’s more to the Acura brand than just good looks.
This is also something of a last hurrah for the original NSX, as a new version is set to come out in 2015. The retooled Acura currently exists just as a concept car, but it is already quite impressive with a racing-inspired interior that is practically the definition of “supercar.”
The TL, on the other hand, is a popular entry-level luxury model that has helped Acura boost sales for their last few months. While it’s surely going to be geared up a bit differently than the racing version, the current 2013 Acura TL SH-AWD has a whole to offer, including:
- A 305-hp 3.7L V6 engine with 273 lb-ft of torque
- Choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission
- 18-inch alloy wheels with sport-tuned suspension
- Eight-speaker sound system
- Bluetooth connectivity
