Acura Race Cars Impress Once Again
Each year, numerous manufacturers bring their fastest and most impressive cars to the 2018 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. This time around, the engineers and designers on Acura’s racing team proved their ongoing dedication to “Precision Crafted Performance” in yet another display of excellence. Acura’s race cars carved out victories wherever they went. The 2019 Acura TLX and the 2018 Acura NSX both took home prizes or set new precedents in 2018, and they were joined by one challenger that few predicted: a racing version of the 2019 Acura RDX!
Acura’s multi-segment victories provide the best evidence of their remarkable talent.
Acura TLX: The 2019 Acura TLX displayed some of Acura’s most daring engineering at Pikes Peak this year, and the performances of its GT and A-Spec models leave little doubt as to its capability. The TLX GT won third overall and finished first in the Open Class race! The TLX A-Spec set a new FWD course record.
Acura RDX: According to the writers at Autoguide, Chicagoland’s drivers have one big reason to get excited about the RDX’s third-place podium finish: the model that competed is “based on the production version of the SUV, and as such features the same 2.0-liter VTEC engine, 10-speed automatic transmission and ‘Super Handling’ all-wheel drive system.”
Acura NSX: Acura’s signature supercar continues to surprise drivers with its high-energy performance and unmistakable design features—and its incredible capabilities are more surprising because it’s a hybrid! The NSX finished fourth in the Time Attack 1 Challenge, with the best time among all the hybrid cars that competed.
