Acura Builds Custom TLX for SEMA 2014
There are few events more exciting for us than the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas. One of the few shows that is only open to the auto industry, fans of specialty modifications of vehicles like the 2015 Acura TLX have to wait for the news to come out, but in the Internet age, that’s barely a wait at all. And we’re proud to say that the new TLX has a special version that was on display at SEMA this year that was a collaboration with sport-tuning experts Galpin Auto Sports.
What was so special about this TLX? We’re glad you asked.
What’s New on the TLX?
While some drivers wouldn’t normally associate the Acura brand with SEMA, they haven’t seen the TLX and just what this car can do on a track. So it didn’t surprise us one bit to hear that Acura partnered with Galpin Auto Sports to bring the TLX up to a whole new level.
Obviously inspiration for the special TLX came from the Acura TLX GT race car (pictured), but Galpin took things in a whole other direction. Painted in a new color referred to as Andaro Blue—a soon-to-be signature color for the Acura brand—the TLX sports a custom body kit, updated brakes, 19-inch wheels, adjustable coil-over suspension, and a high-flow exhaust system.
Acura also brought a TLX outfitted with a plethora of official accessories, including a trunklid spoiler, chrome door trim, a body kit, and more. The point of SEMA is to show drivers and automakers just what vehicles are capable of, and we think that the TLX certainly did Acura proud at SEMA 2014.
