Performance Specifications for the 2019 Acura TLX
Acura TLX Powertrain Configurations
The 2019 Acura TLX’s standard build includes a 2.4-Liter Inline-4 Cylinder engine and Precision All-Wheel Steering. Drivers will have the option to replace their Inline-4 with a 3.5-Liter V-6 engine, and those who opt for this upgrade will also have the option to upgrade with Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive. We’ve detailed each of these features below!
2.4-Liter Inline-4 Engine: The TLX’s standard Inline-4 Cylinder Engine has been paired with a 16-Valve DOHC i-VTEC. With this setup, the TLX is able to generate 206 hp @ 6800 RPM and 182 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4500 RPM.
Acura TLX All-Wheel Steering: The TLX’s Precision All-Wheel Steering feature allows each of the TLX’s rear wheels to adjust their toe angles independently. Working alongside the TLX’s standard Front-Wheel Drive, this technology facilitates a more responsive, stable touring experience.
3.5-Liter V-6 Engine: The 2019 Acura TLX is also available with a V-6! This optional upgrade comes paired with a 24-Valve SOHC, i-VTEC valvetrain, and can produce 290 hp @ 6200 RPM and 267 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4500 RPM.
Acura TLX Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive: Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive technology offers the same all-weather safety as conventional AWD, but unlike most of these systems, it also directs horsepower and torque right to the points where they’re needed most. Power and torque are transferred to the rear wheels when you’re accelerating or coming out of a curve.

The 2019 Acura TLX is proof that you don’t have to break the bank to own a luxury sedan that satisfies you. The TLX Inline-4 FWD with P-AWS is priced at $33,000 MSRP*, and with a whole host of efficient powertrain options, it’s a great choice for drivers who don’t want to waste money at the gas pump. We’ve highlighted a few standard and available features that distinguish the TLX.
Transmission Options: The 2019 Acura TLX Inline-4 comes standard with an 8-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission, a torque converter, and Sequential SportShift Paddle Shifters. A 9-Speed Automatic Transmission with Sequential Sport Shift Paddle Shifters comes equipped on all V-6 models. You’ll be able to fine-tune the functioning of either setup using the TLX’s Integrated Dynamics System.
Variable Cylinder Management: All V-6 TLXs are being offered with Variable Cylinder Management which maximizes efficiency by limiting the activity of your cylinders when you’re cruising at highway speeds. When you’re accelerating or changing lanes, the cylinders flare back to life to provide an extra boost of energy.
Idle Stop: The TLX’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive upgrade includes Idle Stop technology, significantly improving your fuel economy when you’re driving in the city or when you’re stuck in traffic. This feature turns your engine off automatically when you’re sitting at a standstill.
