Do the 2017 BMW X3 Standard Features Offer Enough?
Chicagoland drivers may be torn between the 2017 BMW X3 Sport Activity Vehicle xDrive28i and one of its closest competitors, the 2017 Acura RDX! However, once we begin to explore the standard features offered on each of these luxury vehicles, the Acura’s edge immediately becomes clear. In addition to its lower starting price, its longer-lasting warranty, and its higher residual value, the RDX offers comfort and convenience features that easily outstrip those of the X3.
Get More out of Life with the RDX Standard Features
Fans of the BMW X3 are likely to tout its steering wheel–mounted controls, keyless access system, and fold-down rear seating, but you get all these features in the Acura RDX, too! The 2017 BMW X3 Sport Activity Vehicle xDrive28i starts at $41,250 MSRP, but if you’d like your X3 to go toe to toe with the Acura RDX, then you’ll end up paying upwards of $52,395 MSRP to get the same standard features! The RDX is priced at just $35,570 MSRP for FWD models with the Standard Package,* and even for this low price, drivers will receive push-start ignition, remote trunk release, and a power moonroof, none of which comes standard on the X3. In addition, only RDX drivers will receive standard LED headlights and a multi-view rear camera.
Those behind the wheel of the RDX can also expect to enjoy a more potent entertainment system than those who drive the X3 SAV xDrive 28i. Although the X3 possesses nine speakers where the RDX is equipped with seven, drivers will be able to do more with the audio system in the Acura. RDX standard features like speed-sensitive volume control and Sirius XM Satellite Radio are not equipped in the X3. What’s more, the X3’s speaker system is powered by just 205 watts! The RDX, by contrast, offers 350 watts of stereo power.
