Compare the 2015 Infiniti QX50 Features to the Acura RDX

August 15th, 2015 by

2016 RDXChicagoland drivers looking for their next luxury crossover have a few different options available, but the 2015 Infiniti QX50 features help set it apart from competing models from Lexus and Audi. But when you put the QX50 side-by-side with the 2016 Acura RDX, it comes up short in many respects. While we think the best way for you to see the RDX is from behind the wheel, we have a quick overview of its many advantages over the Infiniti.

Acura Gives Drivers Affordable Luxury

Brands like Infiniti make a name out of themselves by charging high prices for luxury vehicles, yet Acura has no trouble offering a superior selection of features and a higher fuel economy at a lower price. Each 2016 Acura RDX comes standard with these features, which are either unavailable or require an upgrade among the 2015 Infiniti QX50 features:

  • Driver-side memory settings
  • One-touch power moonroof
  • Universal garage door opener
  • Jewel Eye LED headlights
  • Tinted privacy glass
  • Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters
  • Power liftgate

That’s a long list of amenities, many of which drivers expect to come on a true luxury crossover. To top it off, Acura also equips their crossover with a much more efficient powertrain:

  • The 2016 Acura RDX features a 3.5L V6 engine with 29 highway mpg and 20 city mpg.*
  • The 2015 Infiniti QX50, on the other hand, only manages 24 highway and 17 city mpg.

With all of these advantages in favor of the Acura, you might expect the RDX to cost more, and yet it comes in at a lower price than the Infiniti. The 2016 Acura RDX is priced at just $35,270 (MSRP)** while the Infiniti QX50 costs $36,400. Trying to upgrade the Infiniti to match the Acura’s features will only raise its price higher.
