The 2014 MDX Will Debut at the New York Auto Show

March 19th, 2013 by

One of the things that excites us the most here at McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago is the promise of new vehicles. Like coming down on Christmas morning to a shiny new toy, the announcement of a new model like the 2014 Acura MDX has us grinning like we’re kids all over again. We can’t wait to see what the production model looks like at the New York Auto Show next week, but here’s a glimpse at what we expect to find.

From Prototype to Production

Although the prototype of the MDX made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show, we’ve already got a production model coming with New York. Analysts expect few changes between the two thanks to the short turnaround time. Updates to the model include a new 3.5L V6 with cylinder deactivation technology to improve fuel economy and the addition of safety features like forward collision warning, active cruise control, and lane departure warning.

It will be a while before the 2014 model hits our showroom, though, so if you’re interested in a luxury SUV, consider the 2013 Acura MDX, available now here at McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago.

Fusing luxury, refinement, and performance into one vehicle, the MDX stands out among its class at a price that makes other automakers a bit uncomfortable. Starting at just $43,280 (MSRP),* the basic model is equipped with a range of amenities, including:

  • 18-inch wheels
  • Leather upholstery
  • Automatic climate control
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • Heated, 8-way power seating

The 3.7L V6 powering the current MDX is good for up to 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, and it comes paired with standard all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Drivers looking for a new, stylish, powerful, and well-built vehicle should consider the 2013 MDX. The only real way to know if it’s a vehicle for you is to take one for a test drive, so contact McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago today and get on the way to discovering all of the benefits of driving a luxury vehicle without the excessive costs many luxury automakers tack on.
