The 2014 Lexus ES Horsepower Comes Up Short
In order to have a truly competitive luxury vehicle, you have to be firing on all cylinders, and while the 2014 Lexus ES is certainly a nice car, it falls short of the 2014 Acura TL in a handful of important places, including horsepower.
The 2014 Acura TL is available now at a Chicagoland Acura Dealer, where we’ll be happy to show you the ins and the outs in person, but for now, read on to see how it compares to the Lexus.
The Lexus ES 350 Just Doesn’t Deliver
Features and horsepower are two of the most important aspects of a luxury car for many drivers, and seeing the Lexus come up short in both of them is a nice reminder that the 2014 TL is truly something special.
Under the hood is a 280-hp 3.5L V6, compared to the Lexus’s 268-hp V6 engine. You also get more torque (254 lb-ft to 248 lb-ft) when you choose the Acura. But if it were just the superiority of the engine, we might understand some drivers still choosing the ES 350.
That said, the TL has features that either require upgrade or are unavailable on the Lexus, including:
- Two memory adjustments for driver-side features
- Speed sensing wipers
- Leather-trimmed seating
- Dual adjustable seat height with driver memory
- Front heated seating
- High intensity discharge (HID) headlights
- Paddle shifters
It looks clear to us where the advantage lies.
