Enjoy Power and Efficiency with Acura’s Hybrid Lineup

The engineers at Acura know how to give Chicagoland drivers exactly what they desire. In 2017, they’ve put all their expertise into three remarkable hybrid vehicles, designed to excite the senses while saving fuel. Some drivers may associate hybrid technology with less-than-satisfactory engine output, but Acura’s vehicles suffer from no such defects. The 2017 Acura RLX, the 2017 Acura MDX, and the 2017 Acura NSX are all available with Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, and that means they can offer greater power and more precise handling capability than the vast majority of gasoline-powered vehicles on the road today. Each of Acura’s hybrid cars competes in a different market segment, so whether you’re looking for a performance sedan, a full-size SUV, or a racetrack-ready supercar, we’ve got just what you’re after at a Chicagoland Acura Dealers location near you.

2017 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD

The 2017 Acura RLX may look refined, but when equipped with Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, it possesses an unruly and energizing dynamism that will bring out your inner adventurer. Priced at $59,950 MSRP,* the RLX Sport Hybrid with Technology Package has a powertrain built around its central gasoline-burning 3.5L V6 engine, which produces 310 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque without any help from its three electric power sources. The latter are distributed across the vehicle’s frame. One 47-hp electric motor straddles the RLX’s front axle, and one 36-hp electric motor connects to each of the RLX’s rear wheels. All in all, these power sources are capable of generating a system combined horsepower of 377! Its system combined torque—341 lb-ft at 4,700 rpm—allows the RLX to offer incredibly responsive steering and exceptional control.

What’s more, the 2017 RLX Sport Hybrid with Technology Package provides one of the smoothest touring experiences imaginable. Its electric motors make it possible for drivers to accelerate rapidly, even from a complete stop, and its unique 7-speed dual-clutch transmission ensures seamless shifting in every gear. As for fuel economy, the Sport Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 30 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg in the city!** No less impressively, every RLX comes equipped with a wide variety of standard features, including next-generation AcuraWatch technologies like Adaptive Cruise Control and a Collision Mitigation Braking System.

2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid

Drivers who desire a hybrid vehicle with commanding off-road capability and plenty of interior volume will love what they see in the 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid. This one-of-a-kind luxury vehicle provides three spacious seating rows with room enough for seven passengers, and when owners take advantage of its split-row rear seating, it can offer up to 90.9 cubic feet of cargo space. These capabilities only become more incredible when considered alongside the MDX’s Sport Hybrid powertrain. This SUV’s Sport Hybrid system combines a 3.0L port injected V6 gas-burning engine block with the same three hybrid motor system and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that we saw in the RLX! Together, they produce 321 system combined horsepower and 289 lb-ft of system combined torque.

When equipped with optional 20-inch alloy wheels, you’ll have everything you need to depart from the beaten path, and with Sport Hybrid fuel economy, you’re bound to feel like taking more adventures. The MDX Sport Hybrid with Technology Package gets an EPA-estimated 26 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.** For an MSRP of $51,960,* drivers will also receive a stunning array of convenience, entertainment, and safety technologies. Its features include an Acura Navigation System, a 10-speaker ELS Studio Premium Audio system, vehicle stability assist with traction control, and the AcuraWatch safety suite.

2017 Acura NSX Sport Hybrid

Chicagoland’s most adventurous drivers will love how they feel behind the wheel of the 2017 Acura NSX, this manufacturer’s next-generation supercar. Every NSX comes standard with the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system. Here, this system supplies a maximum total system power of 573 hp and a maximum total system torque of 476 lb-ft! With the boost provided by electric power and its 9-speed dual-clutch transmission, the NSX has no trouble going from 0 to 60 in as little as 2.7 seconds. To some drivers, this jaw-dropping level of power—and the NSX’s top speed of 191 mph—may seem a tad excessive, but rest assured, Super Handling All-Wheel Drive technology allows the driver to exercise full control from the cockpit. Singing the praises of this year’s NSX, one reviewer at Edmunds.com writes: “Its tenacious traction as you power out of a corner as almost as surprising as the resolute faithfulness with which the NSX’s nose follows the driver’s steering input.” These are strong words, but even so, no amount of writing could accurately convey what you’ll experience in the driver’s seat when you take the NSX for a test drive. At the base level, this supercar is priced at $156,000 MSRP.
